A beautifully illustrated story of curiosity, wonder, growing up, and remembering the light that was always within.

About the Creator

The Vision

To leave the world with more curiosity, beauty, and wonder than I found it.

About Marites

I am Marites Arias—a mother, storyteller, creator, and free spirit with a deep passion for exploration. Motherhood completely transformed my perspective, reminding me how to view the world through a child's eyes and answer my own inner child's call to return to magic. Today, my work explores the heart of the human experience—how we understand ourselves, how the world shapes who we are, and the wonderful things we discover when we learn to listen to our own inner wisdom.

The Work

My debut book, Born of Stars: The Journey of Lumi, grew from this exact mindset. I created Lumi’s world not to tell children what to believe, but to give them a safe, expansive space to wonder, ask their own big questions, and discover what feels true to them.

The Journey Ahead

Through Born of Stars, I found myself inspired by the very heart of Lumi’s journey—to listen more closely to my own inner wisdom, follow my curiosity, and create my own adventure, wherever it may lead.

Storytelling is simply the beginning. I see creativity as a limitless playground where writing, art, design, and new forms of expression can naturally unfold. This space gives me the freedom to explore, experiment, and share whatever emerges along the way.

What comes next is part of the wonder. It may be another story, a piece of art, something inspired by my travels, or something I haven’t imagined yet. I’m learning to trust the journey rather than needing to know exactly where it leads.

And through it all, I hope to create with curiosity, joy, meaning, and an openness to whatever comes next.

Creativity Without Boundaries

What began with storytelling continues to evolve through art, design, and new forms of creative expression. Marites Creative Press is a space to explore ideas, follow curiosity, and share what emerges.
